Kua Bay is the beach I go to first and visit last when I am on the island. It is a short trip from Kona Mountain Home and features white sand, wave riding, snorkeling, lots of sun, and amenities like showers and bathrooms. Because Kua Bay is so close to home it is easy to pop down and get a quick dip with just a towel and water thermos in hand. Or choose to spend the day at Kua – bring sun protection (hats, shirts, umbrellas) and some snacks and beverages (no glass!). There is a drop off area so getting gear to the beach is not a marathon. To read more about Kua Bay check out the Big Island Guide.
